This very popular Cannabis Gummies recipe from RuffHouse Studios using marijuana Infused Coconut Oil will do the trick!
Grind, manicure and decarboxylate cannabis in an oven safe dish in an oven preheated to 250° F for 25 minutes.
Combine the decarbed cannabis, crumbles rosin chips (if using), Sunflower (Or soy) lecithin and coconut oil in oven safe container and mix. Cover, put in a water bath and place in oven still set at 250° F for 2 hours. (Remove and stir halfway through.)
Remove the oil from oven and let cool for a couple minutes then strain the oil through a fine mesh strainer or filter. Press the oil out of the cannabis. Measure out ¼ cup for the recipe.
In a small saucepan over medium heat combine the water and the infused oil and whisk together as you bring it to a boil.
Whisk in each container of the unflavored gelatin one at a time while continuing to whisk.
Whisk in the flavored gelatin and keep stirring for about 5 minutes and bring to a rolling boil.
Reduce heat to low, spray molds with cooking spray. Fill each mold to the top with a dropper or spoon. Keep stirring your mix periodically.
Place molds in freezer for 20 minutes or fridge for an hour to firm up.
Unmold the candies to enjoy right away or store in airtight containers for 2 – 3 days at room temperature. Freeze for extended storage.

By bringing it to a boil won’t you kill the potency and how many milligrams is in 3.5 gs
No, you should be fine just keep it barely boiling for a few minutes, not too long, not too hot.
THC depends on the potency:
– 3.5G X 10%THC = 350MG
– 3.5G X 20%THC = 700MG
– 3.5G X 30%THC = 1050MG
Its actually about half of what you said. Only about 50-60 percent of thc is activated fully and ready to be consumed orally, so 3.5 @ 10% would actually be closer to 175 mg
Wrong. Proper decarbing turns nearly 100% of the thc-a into thc
Wrong again
I cannot quote figures on Decarb itself but:
Coconunt Oil, Cannabutter etc methods extract about 50-60% of THC content
RSO Oil, Alcohol, Butane methods extract approx. 80-90%
Men, y’all so funny!
wrong, lab test show infusing oil with decarbed flower retains almost 98% of the thc. Check Ardent website for lab results.
Thanks because I am using this recipe, I have maybe a cup or more of Canna Coconut oil! I thought infused Canna butter & oil THC is high, all my friends say mine are very potent & I don’t use Lecithin, only because it seems unnecessary! Edibles anyway I caution people to cut in quarters & wait for 45 min & go from there & please don’t drive🌿✌️🌿👩🏻🍳I am an Avid baker👩🏻🍳🙌🌿✌️

Yes a good portion convert all most 90% plus on ardent site but that is if you use a ardent nova or fx if useing other methods the rate is much less
I agree with Charles. Properly decarbed flower you’ll get 98% of the thc from it.
Educate yourselves people..stop spreading fake news. Proper decarbing and infusing will approach 100% for both
Proper decarbing and infusing will reach the high 90’s percentile for both the transformation of THCa to THC and the extraction of THC and other cannabinoids.
How many gummy bears does this make or based on the 10-12 grams of thc how many mg of thc does each gummy have ?
Yes it does
Yes it does
Thank you for your words of reason.
I’m an old stoner and I like making different foods and candies. It’s great in Savory dished, especially when you have the right herbs mixed in with dry, decarbed flower.
These people who aren’t getting 98-100% THC are3decarbing it. They have probably never heard of THCA & CBDA, and have no idea what decarboxilated weed is. I’m really sure they have never herd of Carbolic acid being a component of Marijuana and its tied to THC & CBD.
They need to learn how to properly make canna oil or canna butter.
They’ve probably have never heard of canna sugar or canna milk either.
Leave cooking up t o the experienced canna chefs!
I must disagree with summers assertion that amateurs shouldn’t cook their own edibles☹️. How else are they supposed to gain experience? These dispensaries are selling crap. They need to learn the proper process, the exact same way we did!
Which is better for gummy candies, coconut or olive
I don’t think she’ll be on the side trying to preach about stuff I clearly know nothing about. My stuff is so private, I’m going to have to credit and more and more so I don’t pass out when I eat one😂
I read I clarified butter is the best, about 90% absorption of thc and coconut oil is about 80%c lecithin helps increase the potential and bond the gummies.
I have the magic butter machine and I’m so confused on how to make these gummy bears please help
I want to use coconut oil I have the lecithin powder and unflavored gelatin how much flower (product) do I need plus I need flavored jello. I’m in do much pain and Dr.s won’t help I have COPD and can’t smoke anymore 😪 I really need some help
how meny do you get out of the Batch
If you get a 3-pack of gummy molds from Amazon or wherever, you’ll fill all of those up, and have a couple of good-sized spoonfuls leftover, which I put directly on to a piece of parchment paper (sitting on a plate) and into the freezer she goes, along with the 3 gummy molds. 🙂
Hi I want to make some gummy bears and I wanted to know if I could use cannabutter instead of the coconut oil base to make them. I have a bunch of butter I just made!
So I infused 16ozs of oil with 1 oz is that about right ?
What if your using kief hash isn’t that pure thc what would that be for 3.5 gs
Still needs decarbed. I use half the weight of using kief. If calls for 3.5 grams I use 1’.75 of kief.
What went wrong. Maybe you can help. I’ve made this recipe before with success. This time it was unsuccessful and trying to determine why. It could be one of two things.
1) I used Liquid sunflower lecithin this time. It was thick and gooey. Is that how it is?
2). I had 1/4 cup of infused olive oil I wanted to use up but wanted to make a large recipe so added 1 cup of infused coconut oil to the mix for a total of 1-1/4 cups of infused cannibis oil. I used 1-1/4 cups of water , 2-1/4 85 g packs of Jello, 5 tablespoons of unflavoured gelatine and 1 big teaspoon of sunflower lecithin.
In the past then it came to pouring the mixture in the moods, it was always thick but this time it was watery. After freezing it, they are hard but the oil has separated creating a layer on the top.
I put my infused oil in with the powder sunflower lecithin and mix that well before I add the other ingredients and after I add the jello mix I add 1/3 cup light corn syrup per batch this gives it shelf life and helps give it the gummy bear texture. It took me some mixing recipes to get the right mix using multiple oils. Olive and coconut.
I would live to know your recipe. I would love to have a longer shelf life. How much of which oil did you use? Was there a sequence you used?
im also interested in your recipe tweek concerning shelf life. ive been given gummies that molded in the bag before…
I start with infused oil 1/4 cup and sunflower lecithin 1/2 tsp low heat mix well. Add 3 packs unflavored 1oz jello and 1/2 cup water mix well. Then add 6oz flavored jello and corn syrup mix well until jello is completely dissolved. Syringe into molds mixing while doing so (a second set of hands helps) chill to set the molds. You can try one now of course. I take gummy’s out and place on wax paper for 24hours in the air then flip to air dry the bottoms also. 24 hrs. Then they are ready to put into containers.
I use CBD and Marijuana to cook with depends on how your weed turns out and how much u add to your mix I have made everything under the sun just replace receipts oils and butter with the mixtures you make depends on what u preference on how strong u want them I have even make chicken wing sauce nerd ropes suger cookies ice cream bars hard candy’s brownies rice crispy treats 🍭 and chocolate candys you can do so much with proper cooking methods but u have to know how to cook
I used 1 lb of cannabis
(white widow 22%) to make 6 lb of butter what would you say is the dosage per pound of butter?
The potency is the potency and gram weight as described.. however, on the RUFFHOUSE STUDIOS video you see 100 bears made and the recipe says “makes 12 servings”….??well if 12 they’d be around 600mg ea, (depending on potency) and at 100 they’d be about 5mg each. How many gummies would be a proper amount of not too much nor to weak? Made it twice, first time I forgot to grind the decanted buds…(rookie!) & 2nd time got everything right, but still had a lot of made Gummies and left over gummi material so I wasn’t sure what the msg were?! Any suggestions for duze and mg from this recipe if I want 25mg or 50mg, assuming a 22-25% THCa flower@ grams called gir in recipe, 3.5.
Not grinding your flower is not a mistake. Many edible chefs swear by NOT grinding
That’s because breaking down the resin pods in your buds before decarbing lets some of the resin to vaporizer in the heating process. Gently breaking the buds open is better. Grinding should happen after decarb and before infusion. But that’s my experience decarbing on parchment and baking sheet in the oven. Using mid-grade buds. I’m guessing about 30mgs per tbs. It was far more powerful than I expected. Works well for pain and boring tv.
How long they last for tho?
That would depend on individual tolerance, but you can be assured for quite a while, I figure you can expect 2 to 3 hours minimum effects from a 10mg gummy if you are new to infused foods. I know people that can eat 300mg at a setting easy of course there tolerance is through the roof.
About to make these
NO NO NO….. your all wrong there a simple math equation that can get you a close estimate within a 2 % plus minus
First, choose your weapon: Brain or calculator?
To anyone mathematically challenged: An online calculator can approximately determine the THC percentage for you. If you’d prefer to do the math, here’s how the formula works.
Start your estimate with an average THC percentage. According to this table found @ journal of chromatography 520 revised publication , low-quality cannabis or trim can contain as little as 3 percent THC, while top-shelf strains can average 25 percent or more. Government guidelines put the national average quality at 10 percent.
We’ll assume yours is 10 (if you don’t have the exact number from lab testing in the journal of chromatography 520 revised ) to demonstrate the equation using a round number. First, you multiply your THCA by 10 to get your mg/g of THCA
10% THCA x 10 = 100mg of THCA per gram of cannabis
The conversion rate of THCA to THC is 0.877
100mg THCA x 0.877 = 87.7mg of THC per gram of cannabis
So, one gram of 10% cannabis contains 87.7 milligrams of THC as long as there was no THC in the cannabis to start with. If there was 0.2% THC in your cannabis before you decarboxylate then you must add that in as well.
0.2% THC x 10 = 2mg
2mg + 87.7mg = 89.7mg of THC per gram of cannabis
Next, you divide the amount of THC in your recipe by the number of servings it makes to get the per-serving dose. For example, suppose you make cannabutter with a cup of butter and a cup of average-quality ground cannabis (about 7 grams). Multiply 7 by 89.7 (7 x 89.7), and you have 627.9 milligrams of THC in the butter. If you used half the cup of butter to make 24 cookies, the batch would contain 313.95 milligrams of THC. Divide that by 24 (the number of servings), and you know each serving contains approximately 13 milligrams of THC.
Tip: if you continue to decarb after all of the THCa has converted to THC, it will begin to convert to CBN, the strongest sedative of the known cannabinoids.
How did you find this math
The temp of the product should never get higher than 199 degrees
“Whisk in each container of the unflavored gelatin”
That’s not in the recipe
Thanks, I’ve updated it!
It is only 1 Oz of unflavored gelatin though, right?
Yes 1 oz but that equals the 4 envelopes it comes with
Where is the original recipe? This isnt it, it’s missing ingredients so its inaccurate. For some reason the full recipe disappeared off ruffhouse site this week and the link on your tube goes to this page. What happened?
Sorry for the error, I updated the ingredients list and the directions. This site is for recipes specifically so I am putting all the recipes here to be better found and displayed in Google searches. Made some mistakes when inputting the data from other site.
Do you need the rosin chips?
No, you can use them if that’s all you have. The ingredients lists the directions for the rosin chips in parentheses after it is mentioned.
Can I use butane oil instead of dry weed
I personally do not use BHO or any other harsh solvent extracted concentrates in edibles. I’d use rosin press, (ice water) bubble hash, ethyl alcohol tincture or some other method to make concentrates for edibles that do not involve dangerous chemicals. This is because when you pass anything through your digestive system you are exposing your body longer and more thoroughly to everything, including toxins, in the edibles. So those type of concentrates may be “safe” to smoke, I don’t want to risk pancreatic cancer. Others may disagree but that is my take. You can, but I wouldn’t.
How much if only using bud ..7 grams be flower be sufficient?
Yes, if the weed is good should be nice and strong with 7G.
Can I use 14g of flower
Hell, I use 28g of high quality flower every time (indica if i can get my hands on and confirm it), with 3/4 cup of coconut oil, after infusion im left with 1/2 cup of infused oil.
Wow, that’s some strong oil. I’ve been using 1 oz and 2 cups of oil. I’ve been using the boxed Duncan Hines brownie mix that calls for 1/2 cup oil. I have 1 brownie before bed and sleep all night.
Could I use 1/2 cup of oil to get the 1/4th of oil I need for the recipe with using 28 grams?
Does it get you high?
I just made 2 cups of coconut oil and 60 grams of white widow. What would that equate to?
What if I have birthday cake flower? How much do I use? Where do I get the recipes? I like to use butter or coconut oil. I like to learn to infuse sugar and flour too ?
What’s the best way to leave the gummy’s outOf the fridge so they don’t go bad I’d like to sprinkle either some kind of sweet or sweet and sour sugar on the outside not sure when to do that though or if I should wait for them to sit out for a few hours and then put the sugars on
Shake gummies in sorbitol, its a powdered preservative and sour.Store gummies in fridge
You can dehydrate them to reduce even more of the moisture content to make them more shelf stable but remember we are working with Gelatin and heat will cause melting.
If i were to use only 7 grams of flower or bud, how strong would each bear be?
It’s hard to answer that without knowing the THC content of the bud and size of the gummies but here is a general idea.
7G X 20% THC = 1,400 MG available.
Now let’s say you have 50 gummies.
1,400MG THC / 50 Gummies = 28MG THC/ per gummie (theoretically)
This is assuming you extract 100% of the THC in the extraction which is unlikely. You probably get 75% of the THC with this type of coconut oil extraction at best. It ALL depends of course on the potency of the oil but the only way to know for sure is to test the oil, each and every batch. Hope this is helpful.
http://www.howtoedibles.com/categories/essentials/recipes/coconut-oil
Was a site I found
That’s handy but it assumes 100% transfer from bud to oil?
I am guessing most of us would be lucky to hit the ~90% that anova lab tests show.
🙂
Hi there! Am chemist.
Yes oil is only about 60% or so efficient, but with enough oil it doesn’t matter. It’s really the ratio of solvent to solute that matters. In this case, oil to THC.
If you try to dissolve a lot of weed in a little bit of oil efficiency matters. If you have a lot of oil and not a lot of THC, it will have a hard time fully saturating the solution.
It’s like adding salt to water. If you have a lotta salt and a little water you end up with salt water and salt in the glass that won’t dissolve. Just add more water and more salt can dissolve.
Thank you!!! I’ve been trying to explain this!!!
So can I substitute the coconut oil for vodka? I’ve seen other videos making cannabis infused vodka, just wondering if the gummies for turn out right?
I personally would find a different recipe, one using tenture method.
Alcohol based tinctures require 90+ proof alcohol such as Alcool, Isopropenol, etc. example RSO Oil (vodka is only 40 proof)
Alcohol tinctures also require a very different cooking/boiling down process, compared to Coconut oil or Butter processes.
You can find many RSO recipies and procedures with a simply Google search. just don’t blow yourself up.
Use Everclear- it’s high grade alcohol and food grade-or, so I was told.
I tried everclear for tincture but I did not like the bite it has, went to infused coconut oil, and I decarb @200 for one hour works good
I used 190 proof grain alcohol and a mini crock pot to reduce the liquid. This is relatively safe because no open flame or glowing burner, the tincture came out great, made some hard tack candy. Good medicinal value
When u add ur tincture to your hard candy how do u stop it from turning soft? Whenever I’ve been making hard candies I use sugar abd corn syrup with tincture and for some reason they won’t stay hard
I have infused coconut oil already decarbed, for 1t=10mg. Should I add some to reg oil ?
If you use ALL 1/4 cup with the infused oil you have already the entire batch will only be 120 mg, you should be fine.
if i put 28 grams of flower into 14floz of coconut oil. how much mg theoretically is in each tablespoon? also how much mg per gummie using this recipe when i used this coconut oil?
It depends many factors including the percentage of THC in your bud and how you decarboxalated it. Did you use lecithin when you infused the oil? Lecithin helps bind the THC molecules to the fat in the coconut oil.
I use the magical butter machine to make my infusion. For that I used 2 cups of coconut oil and one ounce of high percentage THC – roughly 25%. Total milligrams of THC equals 7125 mg or approximately 223 mg per tablespoon. That should give you approximately 20 mg gummie bears (I make 200 1 ml bears and always have extra I put on parchment paper, then cut into tiny squares. Otherwise it’d be higher.
Lecithin assists in attaching THC to H2O molecules. If you don’t use lecithin in your canna oil, your gummy‘s may separate.
Hey guys,
Was wondering if it is possible to use 3,5gs of bud & not use the Sunflower/Soy Lecithin? E.g could I halve the ingredients and still get some good quality bears?
Cheers
You would still get some decent but not as good or high quality as the sunflower/soy lecithin acts as a emusifier making the bud adhere better to the fats of the coconut oil
As well as, or even more importantly, aside from the Lecithin aiding in mixing (emulsification) in the other ingredients, Lecithin aides greatly in how your gut absorbs THC. Some studies report 50% more absorption and quicker uptake of THC into your bloodstream.
I’ve read that MCT oil provides improved absorption, thus eliminating the need for lecithin. I use it exclusively to make my infusions for sublingual dosing. But I wonder if it would work for making gummies.
I am sorry but what you read is incorrect…the mct are different from the lct only because it takes your body a shorter amount of time to absorb the fats of the mct oil….mct’ are NOT an emulsifier they are FATS. here is a reference link,,,the soy lecithin is still needed and valued in cannabis recopies.https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/mct-oil-101#section1
Stay happy , Stay healthy!~
Why do they only keep a few days in frozen?
It said they stay good for only a few days in an airtight container at room temperature. For extended storage to put them in the freeze.
Because you ate them all?
I made my first batch tonight. They came out perfect. Since I have 200 plus, I plan on freezing them in an airtight container. I bcertainly hope they’ll keep for weeks. What was your problem?
In the video you yielded three 50 count trays, plus extra. You also said that 3 or 4 of these is a serving. Based on the recipe for one box of Jello and 1oz of gelatin you said that it’s for 12 servings, which would be 12×4=48 gummy’s. So how did you come out with three times that amount?
Based on the recipe, I filled four trays of one ml bears with fifty bears per tray. Plus I had leftover that I placed on parchment paper. I’d say in the future it will make about six or seven trays of fifty.
Note gummy bear molds contain various sizes. I use 1 ml molds, but they make 2 ml, 5 ml etc trays too.
Used the tincture extraction method for 1/4 solid shake used 10 mg tincture added cocunut oil to it to equal a 1/4 cup and used one extra packet of gelatin extra to get some added firmness firmness to the gummies while in your pocket.they are in fridge now but just the little bit of excess left of I munched wow this recipe is amazing
I don’t understand a word you said, as if you were talking in code.
How long do these keep? I’m looking for something to keep around the house without worrying about them going bad like brownies or other baked goods.
I added Lorann Mold Inhibitor (used a hint over 1/8 tsp) the company suggest 2 teaspoon for 5lb batch…
This recipe was easy, straightforward, and delicious! On my second batch, I put the mixture into a squeeze bottle to distribute over the molds. This ended up being a lot faster and made way less mess than the dropper method.
Yes squeeze bottle works but as I have experienced my first time you must be quick or it will solidify in the nozzle and then the nozzle burst off if you squeeze to hard, creating a delicious mess to eat lol. If you want take your time dont pour it all in the bottle at once, do it in batches while the remainder boils
Go to a craft store,Look for Wilton’s candy making products,They have squeeze bottles that are silicone and meant for hot stuff, like to melt chocolate, etc… Thats what we use to fill the molds for our gummy bears, works great,no mess& you dont burn yourself while holding the bottle
When I make chocolate I put a 4 cup glass measuring cup in pot of water as double boiler. Good for measurement and easy to pour molds with measuring cup.
Is there a way to make these flavored ?
Can I add honey? Flavored gelatin? How do they taste as it ?
Great tip! Thanks!
Happy December
Mine came out super thick & hard…Did I not let it come to a roaring boil long enough?
Cheers & thank you
Heat carefully and slowly, never to a Boil. Boiling causes the sugars to solidify and clump, and also causes air bubbles, making the resulting gummies unclear and/or lumpy. It is also advantageous to remove the scum from the top of your mixture (let it cool a bit, then re-heat it) for clearer end product.
How much in weight do you use of flavoured jello ? Is a 6 oz pack 6 oz of flavours Jell-O powder ?
1/8oz converts to 3.544grams, but I see someone asked about using 7g (if just using flower and not rosin chips as well). Would you recommend using 7g or should it be sufficient with just the 3.544g as the recipe states? Also if just using flower should we still use the 1/2c of coconut oil as you stated in the video (because of evaporation) or should we just stick with the 1/4c?
Very appreciated information sir.
I’ve ordered the Mighty Fast herbal Infuser, for science.
Are the 1/4 cup of tincture are the same (2 hours coconut oil vs 2-5 days alcohol tincture)? I’m lost. Would you make a tutorial to explain the differences between tinctures (oil and alcohol) and what are the benefits/advantages.
Cheers, thanks a lot -Max
I have made this recipe but it is sticky before I even can get it into the molds? What can I do to fix it? Also can I substitute canna butter for the oil?
No Butter will separate and create greasy gummies. You can use a mixture of corn starch, icing sugar, (for sourness) citric acid as a coating to sprinkle or roll them in to get rid of oiliness and stickiness.
How strong is the smell while baking ? And Making the bears ?
next to zero. Smelly processes are (strongest) decarboxolating (mild) curing Butter or Coconut oil in crock pot.
Making gummies not so much
Love this! Definitely going to give it a try! With regards to the lecithin; I can’t find the liquid, only granules. Will this work? If yes, how much should I add?
If you use powdered lecithin you only need 2/3rds the amount of liquid lecithin. For example if the recipe calls for 3 teaspoons of liquid lecithin you could use 2 teaspoons of powder instead.
Lecithin increases bioavailability of the cannabinoids and helps bind water and fat together. In this recipe it’s binding the coconut oil to the water.
Most recipes call for 1/2 tspn per 1/4 cup of Oil or Tincture. More can add an unpleasant taste.
Is this recipe calling 1/8 oz of cannabis flower and the rosin chips? I only have cannabis flower will that work?
Could I used orange juice instead of water?
As long as you use lecithin to bind the coconut oil you can prepare gelatin any way your confident in doing so.
I bought CBD oil from Amazon would this work in this recipe? Replacing some steps and adding 1/4 cup of this to the recipe, good?
As long as it’s coconut oil based. Liquid coconut will bind with the lecithin as well as solid coconut oil.
Im allergic to coconut oil… id there an alternative oil I can infuse to make this recipe?
Cannabutter will impart a buttery flavor. Coconut oil is used because it doesn’t really have its own flavor. In my experience as long as you have the lecithin to bind the fat and water together it works. Your mileage may vary.
I find that unrefined coconut oil has an intense flavor I have trouble masking. I am going to try refined coconut oil to see if there it imparts less coconut flavor.
Can you use sugar free jello?
Do Not use Virgin Coconut Oil. If you use sugarless Jello U will need to add some other sweetener. Honey, corn syrup, etc
Salt kills the taste of unrefined coconut oil. I used sugar free jello and my gummies came out more like jelly beans.
Hey, could you give an equivalent from infused oil or butter to the candies weight. Like « with 0.05kg of butter you’ll have 0.2kg of strong candies »
Thank you
We’re cooking it from France !
So with this recipe, how many bears would be a solid amount to be high?
Can you use jusy infused oil
I ran into a couple issues on my first attempt with these, hoping someone can help me out for next time around…
1) The coconut oil didn’t reduce from 1/2 cup to 1/4 cup so I had to leave 1/2 of it sit for another time. This means I lost 50% potency and has me wondering what went wrong. My stove’s temperature could be incorrect, but it’s a pretty new appliance and other than that I followed the directions. I also make firecrackers all the time and have had no issues de-carbing at 250° with the same oven thus far.
2) The recipe calls for “1 pack 6 oz Jello (any flavor)”. Jello packs are only 3 oz though. So I used (2) to get to 6oz, but I feel like that was wayyyyyyy too much. I struggled filling two bear trays before the mixture got so thick it wouldn’t draw up into the baster any more. So I had to just pour it out on a flat surface. Add to that they are tough to eat, extremely chewy. Seems like other people are having a similar issue–makes me wonder if the recipe has a type and it should only be 1 pack 3 oz Jello.
1. I often end up with over a 1/4 cup of oil and have used up to 1/2 cup of oil in this recipe without issue. I usually make a double batch of oil and freeze the extra. With adding more oil I usually add an extra TBS of gelatin so they firm up nicely.
2. I like to keep my sauce pan rolling at 170F while i’m molding the gummies. This keeps it viscus and not as sticky.
You’ll have to experiment with the Jello/Gelatin vs Oil amounts.
To do so, you can always re-heat the mixture to add or adjust any ingredient you want. Or simply to keep it pour-able when adding to molds.
Would it be possible not use olive oil in this recipe? I made a 7g flower to 12oz olive oil infusion and I’m looking for ways to use it up. But I’m worried that it will possibly separate more than coconut oil would? I’d just keep them in the freezer if necessary. Great content on here!
Would it be possible to use olive oil in this recipe? I made a 7g flower to 12oz olive oil infusion and I’m looking for ways to use it up
My first batch was like that. My second batch I reduced the unflavored gelatin. My third batch I reduced gelatin and added a 1/4 cup water.
The third batch was the easiest to work with. Still gelled well. Easier to chew. Due to the extra water….they were not as potent as first 2 batches….but not a lot. Also….i heated water and oil mixture first then mixed in jello and gelatin at a cooler temp and mixed well before putting in molds. I got about 80 2 ml gummies with this recipe.
Would it be too strong if i used 28 grams with the coconut oil?
Never too much….lol
I used 56 grams for 2 cups today…
How long do you cook for? What temperature please? How many grams to a cup of oil? THANKS.
BRIGITTE
Do you have to use the lectathin? My cocanut oil is already made
So if I use the Leviton I don’t have to use coconut oil? Correct?
How do you get the gummy‘s to come out clear? Like when you buy them at a professional store. Once I combined the oil with the weed it automatically becomes a darker color, and I don’t like that. Period if I’m making lime gummy‘s I want them to be green and not look dirty. Does anybody have any ideas how to get clearer beautiful gummy‘s?
Use a tincture base of alcohol
How long is it safe to keep these in the freezer? I have so many of them…
Can you just stop at the infused coconut oil and dose sublingually?
How much would you need if you were using vape leftovers? Would that even work?
I love this pot gummy recipe . I made them for first time without messing up at all. Thanks 🙏 recipe
Does it make you high
Use I-EXTRACT coconut oil THC infused lab’d out at 10mg/ ml
This is a great recipe but let simmer after last boil for 5-8 mins 😎🤙🏼
The first time I made these, it worked great even though I messed up and used a 3oz box! Since then, I’ve made it 4 times and every time, the oil separates out. Any ideas? This time I tried boiling a lot less thinking that maybe I boiled out too much water. The first time is the only time I have done all steps back to back from fresh flower to complete gummies. Was that the difference? Since then, I’ve made the oil before and done the gummies part another day
I think I read somewhere that adding soy or sunflower lecithin binds the oil and water!🌷
the Sunflower lecithin binds the oil and water.
I prefer using tincture to oil in gummies mixes much easier.
May I ask how much tincture do u use? I use 200 proof alcohol to start my tincture then render that down to pull all the alcohol off, until down to the darkest color of green, actually almost thicker consistency than quick made stuff. How much would I use of this and what can I eliminate in the recipe?
I got like 200 plus gummies same recipe
why won’t my canna oil mix in with the jello when I make my gummies? it just sits on top. so when I put in my modes the canna oil is lying on top of the modes. It’s not mixed in.
How many gummies do you have to eat to feel something? Is 1 enough?
Looking at all that’s written here, and looking at the boxes of jello I just pulled out of the cabinet, I see that there is mention of 3oz and 6oz boxes of jello being used in recipes but regular boxes of jello I have are 0.3oz and 0.6oz for the small and large boxes. Is this a typo that keeps being made or are there actually these giant boxes of jello?
Are you possibly using Sugar-Free Jello? It is much lighter packages because it’s concentrated artificial sweetener.
Could you tell me in measuring terms, how much water and how much coconut oil. A cup of each doesn’t really explain how much quantity needed of each.
A Cup is a unit of measure. It’s approximately 236.58 ml but often calculates as 250ml per cup in recipes.
What happens when your oven goes to 200c ?
Look forward to your answer.
Thanks
Not sure if I understand your question. If the oven gets that hot it’ll burn it.
Hello, so I made these a few times, followed everything to a T, and they always turn out pretty good imo. With some discrepancies in potency probably due to my error in whatever way.
The main problem i’m having is that after they come out of the freezer (my window at 9 F), they are set out for about 12 hrs to harden and dry as much as possible. The gummies look as if they’re sweating like crazy and even if you wipe the oily sweat off them, they keep sweating like a fat kid on a treadmill.
I was hoping someone could shed some light as to what I’m doing wrong here. I look forward to hearing any responses. Thank you
I thought the same as you so I put some icing sugar in a bag and coated the gummies. Worked great
Made 90 gummies last night using the 36 servings recipe. I substituted 2 egg yolks for the lecithin and they turned out perfect. Taste and consistency is better than a store bought gummie IMO! Lecithin is expensive and more difficult to find but the egg yolks work perfect as a substitute. Thought this might be useful for those on a budget or with allergies!
Omg thank you!!!!
What capacity are your molds? 1/2″ gummies? 1″ gummies?
Thanks for that idea!
Any suggestion on if I want to go sugar free and take out the jello, how much gelatin should I use at that point?
(Doing keto/carnivore and been craving some gummies). Thanks!
When do you add the egg yolk?
Wish I had of seen this a few mins ago..just went to get lecithin and it’s $31 for 473ml!
Guess my question is, what if the infused coconut oil has been made ahead? Can lecithin be used when adding the oil&water before the gelatin/jello mix goes in?
I’ve used this recipe many times without, and I figured try it this round, as I’m finding they are “sweating” and don’t want to coat in sugar
Mine came out extremely thick and difficult to mold – suggestions?
Seems like a lot of Gelatine 4 envelopes of Knox equals 1 oz. Does the amount seam right?
I reduced mine!! Using 2 of the unflavored and 6 oz jello worked great for me
I use 1 envelope of Knox gelatin to a 85g pkg of jello..
Do you use coconut oil that is solid at room temperature or the liquid kind? MCT I think
I HAVE BEEN MAKING BUTTER AND OIL FOR SEVERAL YEARS. DONT THINK YOU LOSE A LOT OF THC FROM DECARBING. EVERYTHING IS SUPER AND LOVED BY ALL MY FRIENDS.
how many gummies are in a serving according to this recipe ? and are the gummies based on the “normal” size gummies ?
Can you do anything with the stuff you strained out?
Can you use liquid coconut oil (MCT) Versus the Solid?
Can you do anything with the flower after you extract the oil…Are you discarding something that still has value or potency?
I follow the exact directions and my gummies were half gummy and have frozen oil I don’t know what happened
Actually it was a different recipe but only difference was I used a half cup of oil and a half cup of water
Happy 420
Maybe I missed it, and I DID read thru many comments, but how many gummie bears does this recipe make? There is absolutely no possible way to determine potency without knowing how many this recipe makes. 12 servings means nothing. Do I get twelve 1/2″ gummie bears? Or twelve 1″ gummie bears?
Please advise…
I have 100 x 1.5ml gummy moulds (probably the same as most people and commonly found on ebay/amazon. Having read the comments i noticed that there was confusion surrounding the amount of servings and so i had to adjust the amounts accordingly.
So i wasn’t left with lots of outstanding jelly, i needed an amount closer to what the moulds hold by infusing a smaller amount of coconut oil but keeping them potent.
I found that the serving for SIX works out at just over the right amount for 100 bears (2 x 50 tray).
To keep them potent i infused 7g of bud with 1/4 cup of oil, this gave me 2 x 1/8 cup servings of oil for the SIX serving recipe.
I am in the uk so using grams but have used the following amounts:
– 25g (1/8 cup) infused oil
– 60ml water
– 15g plain gelatin
– 85g flavoured jelly
Just kept heat low and constant, no boiling, until fully dissolved and consistent. Stirring constantly. Was then easy to fill moulds without rushing.
The end result is 100 bears with roughly 7mg thc per bear.
I found this potency calculator really useful: http://hempster.co/edible-dosage-calculator/
I can now repeat the recipe with the remaining 1/8 cup oil for another 100 bears.
Hey! I followed this recipe and loved the results! I decarb in oven and then into slow cooker with the oil. I do 1 cup of oil to 1 oz. I find a nice effect of them. My question is do you happen to have any more recipes? Particularly a sour version of these!? 😅 thanks! Ps im sure your now aware im also in the UK!
Half way through making these my oil started separating from the gelatin mixture. I ended up putting it quickly into a candy mold, tried coating it in equal parts of the oil that separated. It worked effectively. But do you know why it would separate half way through?
Just keep whisking till it almost goos up on the whisk you can tell it’s separating from the pan
My plants only get the finest heroin so when I smoke then I get the whole effect!
there’s a huge difference between 3.5 grams of bud and 10-12 grams of rosin chips. Please clarify
Can it be substituted with Kief and canola oil?
if the potency is about 26% and using this recipe to make 100 small gummies that are about 1 inch in width an 0.8 in length and 0.4 for depth, how much would each one have?
Made these yesterday and they turned out ok, but I had a couple issues:
1. They came out a little hard/chewy. Should have read all the comments first, but I’m going to reduce unflavored gelatin next time to only 2 pouches (1/2 oz total) and increase water a little
2. They are sweating a little. Not sure if I leave need to let them cure longer for putting it in the freezer or coat them in something.
3. They taste a little too much like weed. I didn’t break the buds up till after decarb but I’m worried I strained too hard or something. I don’t mind a little strong flavor but it’s a little much. I started with an ounce of good flower and a cup of coconut oil and ended up with 3/4 cups of infused oil. It was a dark indica but it also turned out kinda dark. First batch was orange flavor it came out a little brownish so the next batch I made was lime they look more appealing but still tastes really strong–all calculations say they should only be a little less than a hundred milligrams each–I’ve had this dosage before and they’ve never tasted that strong.
Any feedback appreciated!
A good ratio to use is 15oz Coconut oil to 1oz flower. Might have been too heavy on the flower to oil ratio, hence the stronger flavor. It’s also a good idea to break up the bud a bit before the decarb. process. Not too fine though, about the size of a black bean.
Hi I got 4gms of weed how much coconut oil, unflavored and flavor jello do I need
No where on the web not one single gummy bear recipe no one tells me HOW MANY STANDARD SIZE GUMMY BEARS DOES 1 3 OZ PACK OF JELLO MAKE?
HOW CAN I PROPERLY DOSE A 3OZ PACK OF JELLO WHEN NO ONE WILL TELL ME
HOW
MANY
GUMMY BEARS
DOES
1, 3 OZ
PACKAGE
OF
JELLO
MAKE?!?!?!?
WHY IS IT LIKE PULLING A TOOTH TO GET THIS MOST BASIC QUESTION ANSWERED?
DOES ANYBODY KNOW
HOW
MANY
STANDARD
SIZED
GUMMY BEARS
DOES 1, 3 OZ PACK OF JELLO MAKE?
Can you tell us exactly how many ml of gummy solution you put into each individual gummy mold?
I am way new at making my own. I’ve looked at different recipes. I thought the thc infused coconut oil has to be stored for two months to get maximum strength. If anyone has any tips please let me know.
Can I use jolly rancher flavored gelatin and jello together?
Lecithin will help if oil is used. Binds better.
Can you post a non time lapse video of the whole cooking process not the making oil but just the start to finish of prepping the pan to adding the ingredients. I’m a visual learner and I need a more in detail video if you could do that that would be awesome.
How long do they last before spoiling?
Can i do that without the sunflower lecithin? And do i have to filter the weed from the oil? When im baking with cannabatter i dont filter the weed and it’s more potent than with filtering, thanks for the helpers
Curious: can fan leaves and stems be used to make gummies ?
You could… But if you are looking for a potent gummy you should go with a more potent part of the plant.
I don’t have coconut infused oil, can I use the canabutter , so it the receipe asks for 1/4c of canabutter and 1/4c coconut oil, can I use 1/2 c of the Canabutter instead?
Is this much weed really necessary?? I made canna butter that wanted 10 ounces. Holy buckets, it was potent with just 5 grams. Apologies if someone already asked this. Thanks so much!
This is great info. I had the problem of the coconut oil solidifying on the top. I have purchased some sunflower lecithin and plan to take it from the top once again. I am so “schitzy” about them not turning out right again. I going in!!!!
Mizan
Our Auntie came home on hospice against Dr orders and requested Gummies or any of my edibles. I already have cannacoconut oil i made but would like to know if adding the sunflower lecithin to the mix helped it bind together and did the final product sweat like before?
I’m wondering how much oil to infuse into 1/8 oz of weed for this recipe?
3.5g
A few thoughts, I have been growing and making edibles for several years since bout with cancer.
I did a few alcohol extractions, and to speak to a post above a tincture can be made with 40% alcohol like vodka etc. In fact there are some new commercial extraction units made to work with lower alcohol/higher water content. But traditionally, you just put weed in a jar and pour the alcohol over it. I’ve kept the same jar for weeks or months, adding some decarbed cannabis and/or hemp and just straining off a bit at a time.
After trying the coconut oil extraction, I felt that I was getting more “bang for buck” in medical effect. After finding BadKat Pharma’s info on using lecithin, I started adding that. About the same time, I also ordered the Nova decarber. These two additions, the lecithin and the “proper” decarb made my oil feel about 2x as strong, and lasts longer – almost a “time release” effect, like 3 or 4 hours later suddenly get a “rush” of high.
Personally I have researched various types of solvents, I feel that done properly BHO, wax, shatter etc. are just as safe provided they use proper machinery. That is, Butane turns to a gas at room temp, nothing left behind. CO2 extraction is very popular for mass production, and the same is true it is gaseous at even lower temps.
As far as bang for buck, making extract is far less labor intensive than chopping and trimming bud. IMHO, there is a lot of good medicine in cannabis besides THC, and the whole plant extract is beneficial. I’m even leaning to experimenting with seeded weed vs. sensimilla, also in growing under natural sunlight vs. artificial.
I have thc packets with 5mg of powder in each. How many milligrams of THC are in total?
I used 28 grams of glower 25% thc. I made them per the recipe. It made 20 gummies in a silicone muffin pan. What is the potency of each gummy?
Thanks for replies
Flower not glower. Lol
What is the best way to clean the sticky mess on the whisk and other tools ? Thanks 🙂
Do I need to add the water that is listed on the flavored gelatin package?
I made a batch of gummy lego blocks, the oil I used had 29 grams infused into it. I followed the recipe but cut back on one pack of gelatin due to the bears being to hard. If I’m right the calculations for it is this: 23/100=0.23X29g’s=6.67X1000=6670mgs of thc than divide it by 6 portions is 1,111mgs of thc in each serving. Mind you I’m a rookie
Is the ½ tsp Sunflower/ Soy Lecithin Powder or Liquid form?
Can anyone adapt this for distillate? I’m having such a hard time finding a simple one for a novice infuser… TIA
1st timer here…need help!…
What if you forget to spray the molds with oil?
Never mind! I don’t need to spray oil if using silicon molds
I use this recipe word for word when I put it in the freezer the coconut oil separated so I guess either I need to use egg yolk next time or find a different recipe
some months back I decided to make gummies for the first time. I’m a pretty good cook & baker, so I figured I’d try them out.
My significant other was telling me how & what to do, as he knows everything 🙄
By the time I was done making the gummies(I had a huge batch) i realized, or at that time, i didn’t, I was soooooo hiiiiii.
I don’t smoke, I don’t do edibles, nor will I ever again. I couldn’t get off the couch, no one would shut up. After a 3 hour nap, it was still there. I managed to put dinner together that evening, but only after spending the entire day baked.
All I know, everyone was happy with the way the gummies turned out, but I will be wearing gloves and protective gear if I ever do that again😭
Hope everyone else’s turn out as well🤣
